A Fresh Start

Hi there! You have somehow managed to stumble across my blog (hooray!) and I am so happy that you are here! I finally decided that it’s about time to start a blog. It’s a chance for me to get to share a little of my life with you, and maybe you’ll get to know me a little better by the end of this. To give you a better idea of what to expect, I will be sharing all of my future weddings and engagement sessions here, and all the little moments in my life that I think are worth sharing. So let’s get started with a few details about myself…

My name is Ned, and I am a twenty-three year old wedding and engagement photographer. I reside in Riverside but I serve all of beautiful Southern California and beyond! I picked up my first film camera when I was just a naive sixteen year old in high school. If I can recall correctly, it was a Nikon FM2 (but I now shoot Canon) and that camera kick-started my love for photography. Shortly after graduating high school, I attended Riverside Community College and took a few courses into digital photography. It was right then and there that I knew photography was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. At first, it was just a hobby (a very expensive one) but eventually I saved up enough pennies and bought myself a ‘big boy’ camera; the Canon 5D Mark II. I knew I wanted to get serious with my photography and this was huge stepping stone in my journey.

I started off shooting landscapes and it wasn’t exactly fulfilling my creative ‘itch’. I knew there had be something more than capturing still life and that’s when I was approached by a couple and asked to shoot their wedding. “ME?” I thought. At first I was extremely hesitant (as you can imagine) but I agreed. I went out, rented some gear from Redefine Rentals (by the way, thanks Scott!) and I photographed my first wedding at the elegant Crestmore Manor in Riverside! I was hooked. I was 18 at the time and I instantly fell in love with weddings. Fast forward about five years and here I am today.

So I hope you know a little more about me and my journey as a wedding photographer. And if you’re still reading this (you’re awesome), thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to do so. I’m not sure how this whole ‘blogging’ thing will turn out but for the most part I really enjoy it and hope you do too!
